Beam-Foil Spectroscopy.

Abstract

This report describes measurements of atomic transition probabilities in Fe III, Nd II, Ti I, and Mn I carried out in 1976, and refers briefly to measurements in Fe II, Ni I, Cr I, Pr I carried out since 1971. Method is beam-foil time-of-flight measurements of radiative lifetime of a level, combined with a measurements of the branching ratio for the decay of the level. Purpose and evolution of the research program over the past six years is discussed.
