The Foreman: Providing the Program Execution Environment for the National Software Works. Revision 1

Abstract

This report describes the function and operation of the National Software Works (NSW) system component known as the tool Foreman. A tool is a software development computer program made available to users through the multi- computer NSW system. The Foreman provides tools with their NSW execution environment, and ensures the smooth operation of tools within the NSW. Various aspects of the tool environment and the Foreman interface with other NSW system prosesses are described.
