Abstract

Land ownership data are analyzed. Three categories are covered: governmental, corporate and private. Federal and state governments own land strictly for the purpose of land preservation. Corporations own property for timber, mineral and investment value. Individually owned property is primarily for recreational and residential home sites, small business sites, farms, and for investment value. (Author)
