Training Effectiveness Assessment. Volume I. Current Military Training Evaluation Programs.

Abstract

A study was conducted to clarify issues and problems involved in the assessment of the effectiveness of military training and to evaluate and recommend objective procedures for determining the effectiveness of Navy training. The study results are reported in two volumes. This volume, volume I, reviews current military training evaluation programs. Evaluation philosophy, documentation and current practices in the assessment of training effectiveness within the United States Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Army are described. Information is provided concerning strengths and apparent deficiencies of the programs which were in effect between June 1975 and May 1976.
