Finite Element Stress Analysis of Bolt for Medium Caliber, Anti-Armor Automatic Cannon, Test Bed Number 2

Abstract

This report presents the results of a finite element analysis of the Medium Caliber Anti-Armor Automatic Cannon bolt. The analysis determined the stress levels throughout the bolt cross section at peak chamber pressure. A standard axisymmetric finite element program using constant strain elements was employed. Results show the bolt design adequate.
