Big Black River, Mississippi Comprehensive Basin Sudy Volume II. Annex A.

Abstract

This report is part of a comprehensive plan for the development of the water and related land resources in the Big Black Basin located in west-central Mississippi. The purpose is to guide to orderly development of water and related land resources of the Basin to keep abreast or slightly ahead of the needs. Need arises from such occurrences as water shortages, water surpluses, deficiencies in water quality, land losses due to water action, and inefficiencies in the use of both water and related land. The adverse effects of these water related problems are identified in terms of direct and indirect damages to land, firms, households, communities, and the Basin and regional economy in the absence of correction or development of water and land related resources currently existing or of potential consequence. ?
