Effects of Weather on NATO/Warsaw Pact Air/Ground Operations.

Abstract

This paper was prepared in support of a Project 7900 long-term analysis to better understand and define the integrated air/ground threat in central Europe. The paper provides a descriptive summary of environmental conditions in central Europe whose probability for recurrence in calendar time can be predicted broadly from a long statistical history of occurrence. The effect of the conditions on military operations is assessed in terms of the opportunities it provides and/or the limitations it imposes. (Author)
