The Stochastic Syncoder as a Neuron Model,

Abstract

The Stochastic Syncoder was developed as an element of an experimental communication system. However, its design was based on observed neuron activity, and in itself is able to simulate the firing of a neuron. This paper describes the hardware model, and considers its performance when compared to actual neural data. (Author)
