Absorption and Fluorescence Spectra of Rare-Earth Ions in Single-Crystal LiYbF4, LiTmF4, and LiYF4.

Abstract

Experimental results are reported on the single crystals LiYbF4, LiTmF4, and LiYF4 containing various concentrations of Nd(3+), Tm(B+), and Yb(3+); these show the effects of various interactions that govern laser action in crystals. Particular attention is given to the absorption and fluorescence spectra of single-crystal LiYbF4 doubly doped with triply ionized Nd and Tm. (Author)
