Energy Programs at The Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

Abstract

This volume contains a record of the activities of the Applied Physics Laboratory in the development of energy sources and energy storage methods. The larger number of articles describe APL activities that assist the Planning Office of the Division of Geothermal Energy (DGE) of ERDA. Efforts in this field are concentrated on resource assessment and utilization in DGE Region 5 (the states east of the Rocky Mountains, excluding Texas and Louisiana). The other sections describe three efforts: design of a Community Annual Storage Energy System, developmental work on polycrystalline silicon solar cells, and design and experimental work on a system to use ocean thermal energy.
