A Fluidic Generator as an Environmental and Safety Device for the SUU-53/A Cartridge Dispenser.

Abstract

A fluidic generator, when mounted in an SUU-53/A cartridge dispenser, allows the pilot to fire cartridges only when the aircraft is in flight and has reached a velocity of 170 indicated airspeed in knots (KIAS) for all flight altitudes; below 140 KIAS the device is inoperative; this inoperativeness makes the dispenser safe. The fluidic generator as an environmental safety and arming device was flight tested at subsonic and supersonic speeds and successfully passed all Military Standards qualifications.
