Dredge Disposal Study, San Francisco Bay and Estuary. Appendix J. Land Disposal.

Abstract

The report presents the evaluation of the economic, technical and environmental feasibility of land disposal of dredged material from San Francisco Bay and development of an economic comparison model of various dredging methods and transport modes for different combinations of alternative land and water disposal systems. Studies included costing of dredging equipment and transport modes; mapping potential land sites around the Bay; and evaluating sites in terms of the physical properties of the sediments, site operation and site constraints.
