Investment Policy for Cost Reduction,

Abstract

This report examines current investment opportunities for defense-related industries and the factors motivating capital investment, especially those related to cost reduction. Changes to, or broader applications of, DoD procurement policy that would motivate defense-related industries to make such cost-reducing investment are recommended. The report contains capital investment case studies of four industries and a macroeconomic projection of defense industries' capital investment requirements. (Author)
