Vessel Traffic Data for Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway.

Abstract

This report presents data concerning vessel traffic in the Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway. The data was obtained from films of a radar PPI at four sites in the Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway. Also, tapes of communications activity on Channel 13 of the VHF/FM Maritime Mobile Band provided data. Data analysis obtained the following: Vessel Density; Vessel Route Identification; Vessel Speed; Close Encounter; Message Activity; Channel Utilization; and Channel Efficiency. (Author)
