An Investigation of User Generated Cockpit Discrepancies in Naval Aircraft.

Abstract

This thesis analyzes problems in current Naval aircraft as reported by fleet aviators attending the U. S. Naval Aviation Safety School. A method is developed which facilitates the collection and processing of the reported information. A collective sample of 286 incidents is stratified into a design discrepancy outline which illuminates 31 specific problem areas. Various recommendations are made concerning concept expansion to a fleet-wide level. (Author)
