Ambulatory Patient Medical Record System Pilot Project.

Abstract

The study purpose was to develop recommendations which would be widely applicable for inclusion in Army ambulatory patient medical records systems. Methodology for recommendation development consisted of implementing and evaluating thirteen improvement actions at two pilot study test sites. Test sites selected were Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and Ireland Army Hospital, Fort Knox, Kentucky. Neither test site fully implemented all thirteen improvement actions. Therefore, ultimate analysis for recommendations development consisted of measuring the effectiveness of four and observing the effectiveness of five of the total thirteen improvement actions.
