Analysis of Surface IR Decoy Placement for Antiship Missile Defense. Volume I. Study Methodology.

Abstract

The placement efficacy of surface-borne infrared decoy systems for countering antiship missiles employing the pushbroom scan mechanism have been analysed by means of digital simulation techniques. The study report has been published in two parts; this one describes the simulations in terms of mathematical models, evaluation criteria and software. The second part of the report includes the results of an analysis for six missile variants. (Author)
