Roundoff Error in the Solution of Finite Element Systems,

Abstract

The paper considers the effect of roundoff error in the solution process of equilibrium finite element method equations. The use of the equivalent perturbation matrix, the misuse of scaling, and the estimation of the condition number are discussed. (Author)
