An Analysis of Aircraft Modifications and Integrated Logistic Support in the F-4 Aircraft.

Abstract

It is the purpose of this thesis to examine the Integrated Logistic Support program and the Aircraft modification process of the F-4 aircraft. Data collected from the F-4 Logistic Support Manager's records showed variances from planned change process as well as engineering and funding problems. These data pointed to the need for a restructured change process that provides for a complete Maintenance Engineering Analysis, improved funding control by the Logistic Manager and specific logistic decision points throughout the process. Areas for further detailed studies and cost analyses are suggested. (Author)
