Infrared Absorption by CH4, H2O, and CO2

Abstract

Spectral absorption data are presented for CH4 between 1150/cm and 1400/cm, CO2 between 500/cm and 850/cm, and H2O between 333/cm and 444/cm. Also included are data on the continuum absorption by H2O between 800/cm and 1250/cm. The samples represented cover wide ranges of the amount of absorbing gas, pressure and temperature. The data are intended primarily to provide checks for the atmospheric absorption line parameters compiled by the Air Force Geophysical Laboratories.
