Surface Wave Multiplexing Techniques.

Abstract

Two multiplexers using offset multistrip couplers (MSC) are described. One is an 8-channel device with 10 MHz bandwidth in each channel. The other is a 16-channel device with 4 MHz contiguous (overlapping at the 3 dB levels) channels. The total insertion loss per channel for these devices is around 17 dB. The out of band rejection ranges from 30 to 45 dB. The frequency sorting is accomplished by a set of offset MSC's which channel the surface wave into various tracks according to frequency. Narrow-band output transducers using a specially developed 'staggered tap' geometry provide most of the selectivity. (Author)
