Application of Sparse Matrix Techniques to Reservoir Simulation.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to show how sparse Gaussian elimination is applied to the numerical simulation of petroleum reservoirs. In particular, it presents the work and computing-time requirements of sparse Gaussian elimination for some typical problems of reservoir simulation.
