Approaches for Coping with the Problem of Staffing a Project Management Office.

Abstract

The study is directed toward determining the problems associated with the organization and staffing of a PM office within the Army and some suggested approaches for resolving these problems. The study questions the PM relative to what he considers 'competent people' and raises the possibility that some of his problems result from his failure to provide adequately for administrative time to process requirements. The study also questions whether or not the PM considers the risk of personnel problems on a par with cost, schedule, and technical uncertainty. (Author)
