Searchlight Sets AN/VSS-4 (XE-4)

Abstract

Two searchlight sets were designed, assembled, tested and delivered to the U.S. Army's Night Vision Laboratory. The searchlight is designed for installation within an armor tube mounted externally on the gun mantlet of various tanks. This report includes a description of the basic searchlight design and the results of electrical, optics, and environmental tests performed on one of the searchlight sets.
