Transient Response of a Log-Periodic Antenna Based on Broad-Band Continuous-Wave Measurements.

Abstract

The broad-band characteristics of a very-high-frequency log-periodic antenna were determined and used to compute the response of this antenna to a transient incident electromagnetic fields. The antenna characteristics were obtained from broad-band continuous-wave (CW) measurements, and the transient response was computed from Fourier analysis of the CW data. The computed transient response showed good agreement with the measured transient response. An approximate theoretical solution was developed based on these measurements. (Author)
