Skimming Newspaper Stories by Computer.

Abstract

This report describes a program that takes a novel approach to understanding natural language. it domain is newspaper articles and it is unique in that it skims the stories rather than reading them carefully. The program is able to understand the important facts in an article while ignoring the less important text. (Author)
