Boundary Layer Dust Occurrence, III, Atmospheric Dust Over Russia.

Abstract

This is the third in a series of reports designed to provide a guide to the occurrence of atmospheric dust over selected geographical areas. Tabularized data on the diurnal variation of occurrence by month and on the duration factor for selected time periods throughout a year for blowing dust (visibility less than 11 km) and of dust storms (visibility less than 1 km) are presented for 85 stations in Siberia, 75 stations in Soviet Central Asia, and 54 stations in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Previously published climatological data on the occurrence of dust over the three geographical subdivisions are summarized in Appendix A. Where translations of these articles into English are known to exist, they are included in Appendix B. (Author)
