A Comparison of Electrooptical Technologies for Target Acquisition and Guidance. Part 2. Analysis of the Grafenwoehr Atmospheric Transmission Data.

Abstract

In 1975 an ARPA/EUCOM-sponsored Battlefield Target Acquisition Symposium raised questions about electrooptical sensor performance in the winter weather of Central NATO Europe. In response, DDR and E and ARPA launched a set of field trials at Grafenwoehr, Germany. This two-part report presents the findings of those trials. Part 1, classified, presents to DOD activities the results of the equipment evaluations. (Author)
