Transionospheric Differential Delay Measurements Using the NTS Satellites.

Abstract

When a signal passes through the ionosphere it experiences a delay proportional to the total electron content (TEC) of the ionosphere. Variations in the TEC can have a significant effect on the error and power budgets of satellite navigation systems. This report describes the design and construction of equipment to measure and digitally record the transionospheric differential delay of signals from the NTS satellites. (Author)
