Inventory Average Costs: Non-Unit Order Sizes and Random Lead Times.

Abstract

This paper addresses inventory system with non-unit order sizes and variable lead times under a continuous review (S-s) policy. Under the assumption of at most one order outstanding, some quite general results are obtained. An example with a specific form of demand and lead time distribution is then analyzed and computation formulas developed. Finally, a heuristic approach is proposed for case when there is likelihood of more than one order outstanding.
