The Development and Test of Sealed Multi-anode Detectors Based on Microchannel Array Plates for Use at Ultraviolet Wavelengths.

Abstract

A prototype sealed multi-anode detector employing a microchannel array plate (MCP) and a CsI photocathode for use at ultraviolet wavelengths has been designed, tested and delivered to the Air Force Geophysical Laboratory (AFGL). Prototype electronics and the associated mechanical assembly have also been delivered to AFGL. This final report for the contract describes the construction and mode of operation of the detector and presents the results of the preliminary laboratory evaluation of the prototype unit. (Author)
