Investigation of Transient Flow and Heating Problems Characteristic of High Energy Laser Gas Circulation Systems.

Abstract

As a parallel effort to the program initiated to design and fabricate a small scale closed cycle circulator for repetitively pulsed electric discharge lasers at 200 K temperature and high pressures, this investigation was initiated to obtain the fundamental knowledge of fluid and thermal characteristics of the recirculating gas flow in the closed cycle circulator during the pulsed laser operation.
