Lagoon Treatment and Conveyance Systems Southeastern Michigan Wastewater Management.

Abstract

The system components covered in this study include the equalization lagoons, screening and grit chambers, aerated lagoons and chlorination facilities that are used to treat the wastewater prior to irrigation. Also covered are the conveyance systems, consisting of force mains, gravity flow interceptors, or deep tunnels, and the associated pumping stations which are necessary for transport of the wastewater to the treatment sites and to the irrigation sites and ultimate disposal sites. Conveyance systems were designed and the costs estimated for use with the advanced wastewater treatment plant alternatives as well as the land treatment alternatives. (Author)
