Abstract

Water Sub-region F, which has been sub-divided into 3 water areas, is composed of 41 counties in four states - three in New York, 23 in Pennsylvania, 13 in West Virginia, and two in Ohio. Standard Metropolitan Statistical Areas within the sub-region include Erie and Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania; Steubenville-Weirton in Ohio and West Virginia; and Wheeling in West Virginia and Ohio. Metropolitan areas adjacent to Sub-region F include Youngstown-Warren, Ohio and Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Other urban centers within Sub-region F with populations of over 25,000 include: Jamestown, New York; Sharon, Pennsylvania; New Castle, Pennsylvania; Fairmont, West Virginia; and Clarksburg, West Virginia.
