An I. F. Signal Simulator for FM Ranging Systems.

Abstract

An intermediate frequency signal simulator (IFSS) which is useful for testing many FM ranging systems is described. The IFSS can be constructed using readily available laboratory test equipment. Target delay time tau and doppler frequency can be set manually for static circuit tests or varied automatically to simulate dynamic target approaches. The IFSS also provides the capability for generating dynamic signals for measuring the ambiguous range responses of a system.
