Technical Performance Measurement for Computer Software Development Programs.

Abstract

The development of software in computer systems acquisition is rapidly becoming a limiting factor with regard to cost, schedule and technical performance. Following an overview of relevant factors related to the software development process, the question of technical performance measurement is specifically addressed. Methods of establishing the status of software design, code and test are discussed in conjunction with the concept of utilizing an integrated software engineering approach to performance measurement. Alternate methods of monitoring software programs are presented for future consideration. (Author)
