An Electric Model for a Cable Clamp on a Single Wire Transmission Line.

Abstract

This report describes the development of a lumped element model for a grounded cable clamp on a single wire transmission line. With such a model, it will be possible to increase the accuracy of existing single line, internal EMP interaction computer codes by accounting for local perturbations in the transmission line geometry. It is shown that a typical cable clamp can be represented by a Tee network, having either inductances or capacitances as elements. The determination of these circuit elements is shown to be straightforward, as they are simply related to the geometry of the cable clamp. (Author)
