Collisional Dissociation and Structural Properties of Atmospheric Negative Ions.

Abstract

The transport properties, collisional dissociation, and photodissociation of N4(+) have been measured. The photodissociation cross section of CO3(-) has been interpreted to yield structural information on this ion, including vibrational frequencies, bond energy and electron affinity. A detailed study of the photodissociation of O2(+)(a 4Pi(u)) has been made, leading to the discovery of a new state F 4Pi(g), and of new techniques for high resolution spectroscopy of ions.
