Strongly Regular Graphs,

Abstract

The theory of strongly regular graphs was introduced by Bose in 1963, in connection with partial geometries and 2 class association schemes. One year later, Higman initiated the study of the rank 3 permutation groups using the strongly regular graphs. Both combinatorial and groupal aspects have been developed in the last years. Moreover, the interest for strongly regular graphs has been stimulated by the discovery of new simple groups. This paper summarizes the main results on this subject, and includes some new ones. An extensive bibliography on s.r. graphs is also included.
