Synthesis of Alkyl and Aryl Phosphazene High Polymers.

Abstract

The first stable, high molecular weight phosphazene polymers that contain alkyl- or aryl- groups bonded directly to phosphorus have been synthesized by the interaction of organolithium or dialkylmagnesium reagents with poly-(difluorophosphazene). The polymers are elastomers or tough, flexible, film-forming materials.
