Battalion Command and Control.

Abstract

This paper defines the current maneuver Battalion Command and Control System in combat and the information flow within the system. Several levels of hierarchical (top down) process flow of battalion operation are presented in flowchart format. These diagrams encompass the combat functions of the battalion together with the command and control functions. Future efforts are required to further detail the logic of battalion operations and to determine the parameters considered by the decision maker under combat conditions. Application of these results to combat simulations would improve the analysis of battalion C and C Systems. (Author)
