Operational Influences on Maintainability

Abstract

This report presents the results of a study of the operational influences on the field maintainability of USAF ground electronic equipment. The study identifies operational factors which contribute to the increase in field equipment mean time to repair (MTTR) from values estimated during equipment development. A checklist type model is included in the report which can be used to estimate the field MTTR given a maintainability prediction and knowledge of the influencing factors.
