Computing Internal Cockpit Reflections of External Point-Light Sources for the Model 209 AH-1S Helicopter Flat-Plate Canopy Design.

Abstract

The US Army Human Engineering Laboratory (HEL) has developed a computer program for computing the internal cockpit reflections of external point light sources. Computations have been completed for the Model 209 AH-1S COBRA helicopter with the flat-plate canopy design. The results indicate that internal reflections are possible for a wide range of external source locations. A computer graphics output is included in the program to show the reflection points on a perspective drawing of the cockpit canopy as seen from the pilot's position. This report contains hard copies of such perspectives and describes the program and routines. (Author)
