Digital Cartographic Study and Benchmark.

Abstract

This report is the fourth in a series of Interim Technical Reports that cover the development and implementation of a stereo matching algorithm that can be used in automatic terrain data collection. In particular, the results of Phase D of the contract are contained herein. The primary purpose of this Phase was to generalize the algorithm that was developed under Phases A, B, and C to handle more uncontrolled cases of central perspective photography and to lay the groundwork for handling non-central perspective photography. Previous developments and algorithm logic modifications have been reported in a rather piecemeal fashion over the first three Phases. This report combines all these developments into a consistent description of the matching algorithm as it appears to date, including the modifications of Phase D. (Author)
