Precommissioning Training.

Abstract

This study was to determine the feasibility of the Navy providing all or part of precommissioning training. A case study of combat system maintenance management training for the CGN-38 (USS VIRGINIA) and the CGN-39 (USS TEXAS) was made. It was determined that this unique case did not provide an adequate data base upon which to base recommendations. It was proposed to expand the data base by studying a representative sample of surface ships related to acquisitions. (Author)
