Laser Irradiation of Metals and Alloys.

Abstract

A functional field-ion microscope for in-situ laser irradiation studies has been designed and constructed. Preliminary tests performed with beryllium are outlined including observations by transmission electron and scanning electron microscopy, and studies involving metals such as molybdenum and tungsten are discussed.
