Evaluation of Relational Intelligence Analysis System.

Abstract

The Rapidly Extensible Language (REL) system under evaluation here allows a user to define a natural computer programming language by extending an English-like base language through dynamic definitional facilities. The scheme seems especially promising for science and technology intelligence data analysis at FTD because of a need to let analysts with relatively little computer experience work interactively with on-line data through a conversational system. The present study finds that REL meets this need partially; where it tends to fall short, recommendations are made for future development of possible remedies. (Author)
