Report on the Comprehensive Survey of the Water Resources of the Delaware River Basin. Volume I. Main Report.
Abstract
The water resources of the Delaware River Basin contribute to the economic and social well-being of an important segment of the economy of our nation. To anticipate the requirements that will be placed on these resources in the future and to plan for their continued beneficial use, an investigation has been made. It was necessary, first, to define these requirements and, secondly, to establish a plan of development that will assure the satisfaction of these requirements through a balanced utilization of these limited resources. This report defines a comprehensive and rational plan for control of the uneven flows of the Delaware River and its tributaries to the practical and economical extent required to insure its optimum and equitable restraint and availability for every purpose in the future, thereby providing for the continued expansion of the Delaware Basin community.
