Mobile Laser Doppler System Checkout and Calibration. Volume II. Appendixes.

Abstract

A program has been carried out to make modifications to the Lockheed-Huntsville Mobile Laser Doppler Velocimeter (LDV) system; to calibrate and operate the system at the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport; to obtain a data base of wind, wind shear, and wake vortex measurements; and to assess the basic operational capabilities of the system based on these measurements. The basic operational capabilities, resolution, and integrity of a scanning LDV for the remote sensing of winds, wind shear, and wake vortices at terminal areas has been established. (Author)
