The Effect of Alkalies on the Properties of Concrete.

Abstract

The Third International Symposium on the Effects of Alkalies on the Properties of Concrete, held in England in Sep 1976, was similar to the previous ones held in Denmark in 1974 and Iceland in 1975, cosponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, European Research Office. In the space of a single year a surprising wealth of new information and ideas has become available providing the tangible evidence of flourishing research in this field of study. It is hoped that the papers themselves will stimulate the interest and further researches necessary for the full understanding of the effect of alkalies on the properties of concretes. (Author)
